KC Restaurant Week 2024 is upon us, offering a delicious ten-day journey through the vibrant and diverse flavors that make our city’s food scene so special. From now until January 21st, prepare to tantalize your taste buds with specially curated prix-fixe menus at over 200 participating restaurants across the metro area, all at discounted prices.
Each year I am beyond excited to try multiple of these restaurants. These three: Lidias, Story and Aixois will definitely be on my list this year. Check out their menu’s below!
Lidias
$40, 3-course menu:
Course 1
Arugula Salad (GF) – Salad of arugula, shaved grana, cremini mushroom, & celery citronette.
Caesar Salad – Lidia’s signature caesar salad with shaved grana padano & focaccia croutons.
Ribollita – Tuscan kale, cannellini bean, bread minestra, & crispy prosciutto.
Arancini – Cacio e pepe arancini with fonduta & balsamico.
Course 2
Lidia’s Pasta Trio – Unlimited sampling of chef’s daily pasta tasting menu.
Cod – Roast cod loin with seasoned bread crumbs, polenta & radicchio gratin, & salsa vicentina.
Sunday Sauce – Heritage pork shoulder, beef & pork meatball, & house made sausage braised in tomato & red wine. Served with rigatoni & garlic bread.
Polpettone – Beef & ricotta polpettone with garlic mashed potatoes, fried shallots, & tomato-mushroom ragu.
Short Rib (gf) – Braised heritage pork shank with rosemary potatoes, spinach, & fresh horseradish.

Course 1
Green Salad – Mint, tarragon, pistachios, & lemon vinaigrette.
“Caesar” – Parmesan, kalamata olives, croutons, & tonnato dressing.
Seafood Chowder – Leeks, celery root, swordfish, & shrimp.
Course 2
Salmon – Oyster mushrooms, broccolini, & wild rice.
Mahi Mahi – Capers, carrots, fennel, & potato puree.
Beef Short Rib – Potato gnocchi, bacon, green beans, & onion rings.
Course 3
Doughnuts – Vanilla pastry cream, salted caramel, & passion fruit.
Chocolate Layer Cake – Cherry coulis & candied almonds.
Aixois
$40, 3-course menu:

Soupe à l’Oignon Gratinée – Classic onion soup, cheese, & crouton.
Caesar Salad – House made Caesar dressing, parmesan cheese, tomatoes, & croutons.

Chicken Paillard – Boneless chicken breast pounded, sautéed with capers, tomatoes, shallots, & lemon. Served with mashed potatoes & vegetable du jour.
Truite Saumonée Poêlée aux Amandes – Filet of ruby red trout, lemon juice, shallots, & almonds. Served with rice pilaf & vegetable du jour.
